The Amathus Group (Amathus Drinks PLC and subsidiary Bablake Wines Ltd t/a Amathus) is a family owned, national drinks distributor and specialist retailer, established in 1978 with a turnover of £60 million and a staff count in excess of two hundred employees.

Amathus supply a full range of well-known brands, and we pride ourselves on our sole exclusive agency portfolio of distinctive and individual wines, spirits, liqueurs, beers and soft drinks, which our expert buying team selectively import from all over the world.

We have exciting growth plans nationally and as a result are expanding our business development sales team to help realise our ambition.  As a member of the Amathus sales team you will be responsible for developing profitable and sustainable business growth across a territory, driving new distribution and delivering sales of Amathus agency brands, especially our developing wine portfolio, supported by our extensive portfolio of products and marketing initiatives.

The Role:

You will be the of Amathus representing the business and our exclusive agency brands and especially our developing wine portfolio.

Your pace, energy and passion will encourage both new and current clients to build a mutually beneficial long term relationship with Amathus.

You’ll be able to demonstrate your excellent commercial acumen, with strong communication and negotiation skills to help build those long term relationships.

You will deliver a reliable and honest service, tailoring lists to our clients’ unique profiles and commercial requirements. 

You’ll be an expert in all wines and spirits offered by Amathus Drinks, with an emphasis on our exclusive agency brands.

You will add support to our clients’ journey to excellent and sustainable business development through exciting Marketing initiatives such as product tastings; cocktail recipe generation; conducting training sessions and by offering technical support when required.

Previous professional sales experience within the Drinks Industry would be advantageous.

Full driving licence required for roles outside London


The Person:

Degree level or equivalent

Able to demonstrate a real passion for and knowledge of premium wines and spirits.

Must be computer literate (able to use Microsoft Office proficiently)

Excellent analytical and organisational skills

Proactive and positive attitude

High levels of self-motivation and a great work ethic

Strong organisation/ presentation skills allowing our clients and customers to share our vision and passion.
