The vineyards are located on the foothills of impressive granite mountains overlooking False Bay. The vineyards are at 200-350m above sea level and the soils are composed of decomposed granite which is relatively shallow in places and very stony, on top of a clay base. The vines have deep and complex root systems, taking full advantage of the mineral rich soils.
Tasting note: "Deep red garnet with almost inky edges. Spicy with butterscotch and violets on the nose. Rich deep notes of blackberries, dark chocolate and black pepper on the palate. A full mouth feel with fine tannins that dissolves into a velvety, sweet and long finish. A big, bold yet balanced wine for big occasions."
