Pioneer James Prince bought the land where the winery is today, and a large area of the vineyards, back at the turn of the 20th century. Direct family members today still work on the land but now make award winning wines where James used to farm sheep. The focus is on classic Australian wines, matching the best grapes to the individual vineyards terroir.
The wines are made in temperature controlled ultra modern steel vats, and are even cooled before ferment to capture the freshness of the fruit aromas.
The Shiraz and Chardonnay are allowed to age a little in older oak barrels, so as to compliment the fruit not drown it out. And the Sauvignon/Semillon is unoaked allowing it to burst with fresh lemon and lime flavours.
