Barbera
This is the most widely planted vine in Piedmont, and is especially popular around the winemaking hubs of Alba and Asti. The Barbera grape tends to lead to cherry scented, medium to light bodied, low in tannin red wines. They are very popular as they are very easy to drink and pair well with many foods, making them an ideal match for antipasto.
