Cabernet Sauvignon

Originally from Bordeaux, Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the world's most famous red wine grape. Cabernet Sauvignon produces wines with strong aromas of blackcurrant and when oaked can contain tobacco notes. Cabernet Sauvignon's small, thick skinned grapes produce juice high in tannins and colouring and these factors can allow Cabernet Sauvignons a long life. It is a late ripener and tends to do well in warm climates and has therefore been widely planted in regions such as South Africa, Chile, California and Australia.
