Grown high up on the slopes of Mount Etna (up to 1200m in places), the region’s winemakers have found that the altitude and volcanic soils provide an ideal environment for grape growing.
In 2002, the Vivera family purchased an estate in the Martinella district of Mount Etna. The winery owns 12 hectares of vineyards which are farmed organically and planted with the native grape varieties: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante. These grapes and the microclimate allow Vivera to produce elegant, spicy, mineral driven wines which have depth and complexity.
Tasting Notes: Intense berries, blackberries, raspberries and currants.
