Malbec
Malbec is a black grape variety that is grown in many areas across France but perhaps achieving best expression in Cahors where it can create velvety, attractive, deeply coloured wines worthy of ageing. It has travelled well to Medoza, Argentina where it has become something of a 'national variety' and acreage is soaring.
