Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir is a tricky grape variety to grow, but when done well it can create fabulous wines with strawberry, raspberry, cherry and gamey notes. It is an early ripening varietal which in hotter climates it will lose acid before developing interesting flavours. In cool climates, rains all to readily rot the thin-skinned berries. However, with the right conditions Pinot Noir often achieves excellence in it's homeland of Burgundy and it's new locations in New Zealand, Oregon and California.
