Situated on the Morainic hills that pleasantly slope towards the south shore of Lake Garda, Castelnuovo is an ancient town, close to Verona, approximately 100 meters above sea level. The vineyards in this area have been cultivated for hundreds of years and fit into the traditional scene with ease.
The grapes are picked when fully ripe, gently crushed and allowed to begin fermentation with their skins. This process is what gives the wine its elegant pink colour. The pink skins are removed when the colour and aromas are judged by the winemaker to be just right. The wine then finishes the fermentation in large modern steel tanks at a cool temperature, which keeps the wine very fresh.
Grape Varieties: 100% Pinot Grigio.
Tasting Note: Sweet raspberries and blackcurrant on the nose and palate, crisp acidity and a dry palate make this wine very more-ish!
