The origins of vanilla, originally from the Gulf coast region of Mexico, can trace it's origins back to the Itzcoalt kingdom (1427-1440). It was originally called 'black flower' and it was the Totonacs who later called it ¨Xanath¨.

The Gaya family, who invented Xanath vanilla liqueur and continue to produce it to this day, have been involved in vanilla production in the Veracruz area of Mexico since 1873. Xanath vanilla liqueur is a hand-crafted nectar obtained from the best vanilla beans found in the region of Totonacapan.

The traditional harvesting methods achieve a unique flavour and maintain the delicate bouquet. Xanath, pronounced “sha-nat”, is presented in an elegant black bottle inspired in the Totonac culture, rendering a tribute to the honour and distinction of it origins.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of ristretto with vanilla syrup, dark chocolate, crème brulee and pastisserie, with a lingering cardamom spice.
