Grown high up on the slopes of Mount Etna (up to 1200m in places), the region’s winemakers have found that the altitude and volcanic soils provide an ideal environment for grape growing.
In 2002, the Vivera family purchased an estate in the Martinella district of Mount Etna. The winery owns 12 hectares of vineyards which are farmed organically and planted with the native grape varieties: Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante.
These grapes and the micro-climate allow Vivera to produce elegant, spicy, mineral driven wines which have depth and complexity.

Tasting Notes: The volcanic soils lend an intensely mineral flavour to the wine and thanks to the lees ageing and bottle evolution, the wine is beautifully round and elegant with hints of white acacia flowers, fresh almonds and mountain peaches.
