With 90 hectares of vines in various plots on the Côte d'Or and the Côte Chalonnaise, Château de Santenay is one of the largest properties in Grande Bourgogne. The diversity of these ‘climats’ enables the château to produce a wide variety of wines whose characters reveal the nuances of the Burgundy varietals.

While the nature of the soil is the deciding characteristic of a terroir, the role of the winegrower is a determining factor in the production of the wine: in the vineyard this is reflected in the choice and implementation of growing techniques, from pruning through to the harvest; and in the winery, in the vinification and maturing of the wines.

Grape Varieties: 100% Pinot Noir

Farming Practices: Sustainable

Tasting Notes: An amazing and deep garnet-colored robe. The nose is really intense with an aromatic range composed of blackberry and spicy wooden touches. The mouth is powerful. Tannins are present, elegant, which gives a remarkable sweep. The aromatic range is complex. Black fruits, discreet wood, soft species are going together very well.

The wine is homogeneous, well balanced, powerful and refined as well. The finale is long and captivating. A wonderful product which will express in the new years all its beautiful potential. A wine of character.
