De Gras is one of Chile’s finest and most widely awarded wine estates, producing a broad range of wines mainly from their vineyards in the heart of the stunning Colchagua Valley, halfway between the Pacific Ocean and the mighty Andes.

Since their arrival in Chile from their native Barcelona over a century ago the Gras family has been aiming to produce world-class wines from their vineyards. Our Master of Wine Jeremy Lithgow will be joined by De Gras head winemaker Santiago Margozzini to take us through a quartet of their delicious wines.

2018 De Gras Chardonnay Reserva £9.95
A lovely modern hand-harvested Chardonnay that successfully combines a round mouthfeel with abundant flavours of nectarine and melon with a subtle hint of vanilla and nuts leading to a crisp finish. Drink with creamy pasta dishes or poached salmon with aioli

2018 De Gras Carménère Reserva £9.95
Originally a Bordeaux grape, today Carménère is seldom seen outside Chile where it has become something of a signature variety with an interesting history. This is an excellent example with rich, dark blackberry and chocolate notes. Drink with spaghetti puttanesca or charcuterie.

2018 De Gras Family Reserve £14.10
A blend of four grape varieties, this is made from only tightly selected fruit from some of the valley’s older vineyards. Deep ruby red with violet hints. Powerful and rich, with layers of ripe forest fruits and soft, succulent tannins. Perfect with grilled mushrooms, lamb kebabs & dark chocolate
