The Douro Demarcated wine region is a breathtakingly beautiful region located in the North East of Portugal. The Douro River twists and turns along the Valley that claims the same name and has been witness to centuries of back breaking work that has transformed a wilderness into a world class wine making region.
Over twenty five thousand farmers still take care and manage the 45.000 hectares of planted vineyards.
