Bonpland Chocolate & Mace Flower Bitters

In 1799, the French physician and natural scientist, Aimé Bonpland, embarked on an epoch-making journey of discovery through America, together with Alexander von Humboldt, known as the German Columbus. Bonpland’s notes and discoveries are to thank for the thousands of new plant species and animal genera.

Bonpland, who later tended Napoleon’s imperial gardens and taught as a professor in Argentina, summarised his findings in literary form. His drive for new discoveries in both the old and the new world, makes Aimé Bonpland the namesake of a rum that connects the greatest treasures of distant distilleries, with the artistry of old German craftsmanship.

The Bonpland bitters combine exotic aromas from the new world with the regional ingredients from the beautiful Mosel region and concentrate their unique character from the own Bonpland estate.
