Cartavio Ron Black

Captain Don Domingo de Cartavio, acquired the land where we now find Cartavio, in the year 1675 and was responsible for giving this city its name. It is now the name associated with this delicious brand of Peruvian rums. The story of Cartavio Rum Company S.A.C. dates back as far as 1929.

Located in the Chicama valley in Peru, this valley has an exceptional geography that is optimal for cultivating the highest quality sugarcane; due to its arid climate and pure nutrient rich water source coming from the Andes Mountains. In 1953, they installed a 4000 litre John Dore pot still, made in England - yes a pot stilled rum from a Spanish colony!

From the meticulous selection of initial ingredients to blending and ageing their rums in American, French and Slovenian oaks casks; everything is done with such precision that no details are left to chance in the crafting of these artisan masterpieces.

Tasting Notes: Rum aged to a dark golden colour and exquisite taste. Both young and old recognize its exquisite taste. Aged two years in oak barrels and mixed with 9 different types of rum which are aged between 2 and 5 years. It has a smoked sweet taste with hints of dried fruits. Drink it clean or on the rocks.

Awards: Ron Cartavio Rum has won over 50 medals in the last 5 years from the most prominent International spirit competitions. The finest rum in the world!
