Chateau Crabitey is situated 20 miles to the south of Bordeaux in the region of Graves. It was built in 1872 by Franciscan nuns who planted vines to provide an income for the Chateau which they used as an orphanage. The estate was then purchased in 1985 by Jean-Ralph de Butler and is now run by his son, Arnaud who has built a reputation for producing some of the best value wines of the region.

The vineyards of Graves benefit from the cooling influence of the Garonne river just to east, and the deep gravel soils add minerality and complexity to the wines from this sometimes underrated Bordeaux region.

After a classic fermentation, the wine is aged on the lees for 6 months in French oak barrels with regular batonnage.

Grape: 65% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Semillon.

Tasting Note: A delicious, creamy white with notes of grapefruit and yellow plum, flecked with hints of vanilla and a touch of toast.

Food Match: Ideal with grilled fish, poultry or goat cheese.

Farming Practices: Contains Sulfites
