Château Haut-Mouleyre Cadillac 50cl

Cadillac lies on the banks of the Garonne, upstream from Bordeaux and has built a reputation for great value botrytised wines in the style of Sauternes. Chateau Haut Mouleyre is undergoing organic conversion and benefits from well-drained south-facing chalk, clay and loam vineyards sloping down to the river. Their fabulous sweet wine is made from 100% Semillon from 82 year vines, picked when the majority of the grapes are botrytis-affected. The wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels for 9 months before bottling, with residual sugar of 150 g/l. A hedonistic dessert wine loaded with luscious ripe mango, pineapple, vanilla and barley-sugar notes, held together with a thread of tangy citrus acidity running through the wine lending freshness.
