Dalton Reserve Shiraz, from this high-quality, family-owned winery in Israel's Upper Galilee, is a full-bodied, barrel-aged red from vines grown on volcanic soil, with blackberry, pepper and roasted meat notes.
Dalton is one of Israel’s larger wineries and was established in 1995, yet remains family owned and operates at a very high level of quality. It’s just 5km from the border with Lebanon in the green hills of the Upper Galilee.
This wine is from the vineyards of Shadmot Dvora, in the shadow of Mount Tabor in the Lower Galilee. The vineyard is on a western facing slope with a volcanic soil. After fermentation the wine was transferred to French oak barrels where it matured for about 14 months.
Full of gamey, spicy Syrah character, with lots of pepper, blackberry, grippy tannins, roasted meats. Long finish, ripe and satisfying tannins
