Stack House Napa Cabernet is made by the talented Anna Monticelli who has wineries such as Cheval Blanc and Bryant on her CV. Her day job is making highly rated and extremely premium single vineyard Cabernets for Pina Wines, however, this is her own project. Stack House is seen by the US press as one of the best value Cabernets to come out of Napa.
A blend of fruit from across the varied terroirs of valley, which provides both complexity of aroma and a balanced structure. The Cabernet Sauvignon is joined by a little Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec and aged for 32 months in 50% new French oak barrel.
This fabulous wine possesses a stunning bouquet of blackberries, black cherries, raspberries, crushed volcanic rock, damp earth, toasty oak and baking spice, with vibrant acidity, freshness and extraordinary purity. The palate reveals soft tannins and a beautifully layered finish.
“Made by the talented Anna Monticelli and a no-brainer purchase for those looking for a great Napa Valley Cabernet that doesn’t break the bank, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon offers up textbook cassis and darker berry fruits as well as notes of lead pencil, peppery herbs, and spice. A blend of 84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec, 5% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc, aged 32 months in 50% new oak, drink this round, supple, seamless 2018 over the coming 4-5 years. “ 91 POINTS – JEB DUNNUCK
