Velvet Cap Triple Cask Blend is a high malt Irish whiskey matured in bourbon, Irish stout and port casks. The triple casks used mirror those found in the cellars of the Waterford wine importer who first started the Velvet Cap blend in 1880.
Blackwater Distillery is situated on the banks of the Blackwater River. Its Irish name is ‘An Abhainn Mhor’ which means ‘The Big River’. And big it certainly is. Sometimes referred to as the Munster Blackwater, it rises on the Cork, Kerry border and flows due east into Waterford, flowing past the distillery in Ballyduff.
