Maison André Goichot is a family-owned Burgundy house based in Beaune, specialising in producing terroir-driven wines across the Côte d’Or and Côte Chalonnaise. The fruit for this Montagny Blanc comes from hillside vineyards with clay-limestone soils, favouring freshness and mineral tension in the finished wine. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve the purity of the fruit, followed by a short period of ageing on fine lees to enhance mouthfeel and aromatic detail. A small proportion may be aged in oak to add texture, though oak remains discreet.
The wine opens with aromas of white peach, lemon zest, and acacia blossom, alongside subtle hints of crushed stone. On the palate, it is bright and linear, with flavours of green apple, citrus, and a touch of almond. A fine mineral thread runs through the wine, supporting a clean, saline-edged finish.
This Montagny pairs well with seafood, especially oysters, scallops, or grilled white fish, as well as fresh goat cheese, vegetable tarts, and light poultry dishes. Its precision and lift also complement mildly spiced Asian dishes or simple pasta with lemon and herbs.
