AMATHUS EAST SHEEN - WINE & SPIRITS WAREHOUSE

We are proud to have chosen East Sheen for our first 'Wine Warehouse' retail format. It's also our first with accessible parking from a rear entrance retail car park, allowing people to quickly stock up on our over 2000 wines, spirits, and beers by the case (or bottle!).

We are setting out to elevate and really extend the area's drinks shopping experience. We share our passion for high-quality drinks from all around the world and illustrate why we have recently won awards for the UK's top medium-sized independent Wine retailer and best Spirits Retailer.

In addition, we always have a wide range of free and ticketed tastings lined up and can also do private group bespoke tastings. Then, to ensure full-service provision—along with promotions and case discounts across the board—there is free glass hire, party planning help, free local delivery, and a Wholesale set-up for possible on-trade customers.

MICHAEL - STORE MANAGER

Michael is a New Zealander, originating from Yorkshire heritage via his BBC Grandfather, who for a period controlled Australasian broadcasting. Although born and raised in NZ, he has lived in the UK for over 25 years, working in Ad Agencies, Talk and Alternative Music Radio, Sports and Charity Event Management, and the wine business before moving into it 18 years ago.

Michael began his drinks industry journey importing and distributing New Zealand wines throughout the UK, then expanding with Portuguese, Spanish, Argentinean and Austrian wines, with much travel, fantastic food & wine culinary and cultural experiences enjoyed along the way.

Then it was onto Drinks Retail, first working with the French Nicola & Spirited Wines Chains before setting up his two own shops in South West London. Now, he is absolutely thrilled to be involved with the Amathus family of award-winning independent drinks shops, especially in East Sheen, which coincidentally was the site of his first flat when arriving from NZ.

Away from work…. more wine, beer and spirits appreciation! Plenty of sport and never enough time to travel to intriguing nooks and crannies of this strange world.
