DOUGLAS - STORE MANAGER

Although relatively new to retail, I’ve had the wine and spirits bug for decades.  With nothing to show for it other than a wine collection, I embarked upon wine and spirit studies a while back and was awarded my WSET Diploma in Wine and Spirits in 2019.  Wanting to put my award to good use, I completed the WSET Educator Training Programme in 2020, hosted events and taught WSET courses before joining Amathus.  Teaching is one of the best ways to learn about wine, but being immersed in Amathus’s fantastic range of wines and spirits is even better.

I'm excited to share with you that we’ll be restarting our events and WSET courses in 2023, and I can’t wait to welcome you all. One of my specialities is Sherry, and I’m a Certified Sherry Educator or the snappier Formador Homologado del Vino de Jerez in Spanish.

As regards my store photograph, you're probably thinking that's either a very small store manager or a very big bottle. Well, it's our store exclusive—a 5-litre bottle of Cálem 20-Year Old Tawny Port!
