Joseph Cartron has been a family run business since 1882, with strong roots in the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges at the heart of Burgundy’s cru vineyards. The soil of this region has been producing high quality fruit for centuries, which for many years have been used in the production of Burgundy wines. Cartron specialises in the production of liqueurs, cremes, ratafia, marc, eaux de vie, with a team of craftsmen using age old recipes.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.

You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us.

The soil of this region has been producing high quality fruit for centuries, which for many years have been used in the production of Burgundy wines. Cartron specialises in the production of liqueurs, crèmes, ratafia, marc, eaux de vie, with a team of craftsmen using age old recipes.

The cherry-plums used to create Cartron Eau-de-Vie Mirabelle, are harvested in Lorraine (in the East of France), the favourite land of this deliciously golden small plum. Between mid-august and mid-september, their producers pick the fruit brimming with sunshine by slightly shaking the trees. These plums, full of sugar, are then selected on a sorting belt in order to keep only the very best. A round and authentic brandy, Joseph Carton’s Eau-de-vie de Mirabelle requires 11kg of fruit to produce a litre.

Tasting Notes: The fruitiness, after a good maturity, feels ripe with compote nuances. Distinguished and powerful to the nose. In the mouth, the first wave is ample and warm. The texture is round and oily. Very nice length in the mouth.
