The Château Les Arroucats Cuvée Virginie is a delicious sweet wine from the St Croix du Mont region on the banks of the river Garonne, to the South of Bordeaux. A gorgeously sweet wine with exotic mango, apricot, lime marmalade and honey flavours. This complex dessert wine would be the perfect match to a French apple tart or crème brulée.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Description

Sainte Croix Du Mont is located to the South of Bordeaux on the eastern bank of the River Garonne. The area is prone to morning mists and subsequently the vineyards are regularly affected by botrytis, creating the perfect environment for producing sweet wines which can offer a great value alternative to Sauternes and Barsac.

Château les Arroucats was created after World War 2 by Monsieur Labat. From 1990 to 2000, his daughter Annie Lapouge developed and modernised the estate and today it is run by her daughter Virginie Barbe. They have 22 hectares of vineyards on a panoramic plateau composed of fossilized oysters and clay-limestone soils, located at 110 m above sea level. The vines average around 40 years of age and the wine is a blend of 87 % Sémillon, 10 % Sauvignon with 3 % Muscadelle, hand selected, partially botrytised grapes. Vinification and ageing is in a combination of concrete and stainless steel tanks.

A gorgeously sweet wine with layers of exotic mango, apricot, lime marmalade and honey. Rich and round, revealing more of itself with air. This complex dessert wine would be the perfect match to a French apple tart or crème brulée.
