Del Maguey was founded by internationally renowned artist Ron Cooper in 1995. Ron was instrumental in bringing true Single Village Mezcal to the world and one of the first to work with single villages.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.

You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us.

Description

The mezcals in the Del Maguey range are made by Zapotec Mexican Indian producers (palenqueros) and their families in tiny remote villages scattered throughout the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Each mezcal is named after the village where it is made.

Artisanal production and made by hand using 400 year old techniques passed down from father to son. All the mezcals are 100% agave, locally sourced and either cultivated or wild (Silvestre).

Through deep cultural relationships with Zapotec Mexican Indian producers in the remote villages of Oaxaca, Mexico, Del Maguey harnesses ancient, original organic processes. Combining these methods with varying micro-climates and terroir gives each creation its own unique, rich, sweet and smoky character. Del Maguey Mezcals are true single village mezcal; pre-green, pre-organic and pre-Fair-Trade.

Tasting Notes: This expression of Del Maguey has a spicy floral nose of carnation, tropical aromatics of garnedia and jasmine, ripe pear, dark fig, notes of wet green hay and gentle, full-bodied palate. The long finish tastes of roasted root vegetables and umami, leaving the mouth with terracotta, a slate-minerality and a touch of salinity.
