Domaine Vincent Pinard is a family-run estate situated in Bué, one of Sancerre’s most esteemed villages. Now managed by Florent and Clément Pinard, the estate spans 17 hectares across steep, limestone-rich slopes. The Chêne Marchand vineyard, planted with vines over 50 years old, is renowned for its exceptional terroir. The estate practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, avoiding the use of herbicides, insecticides, and anti-rot treatments. Hand-harvested grapes undergo fermentation and maturation in a combination of oak barrels and stainless steel tanks, with minimal intervention to preserve the wine’s natural expression.
The Chêne Marchand presents a brilliant golden hue. The nose is expressive, offering aromas of ripe citrus, white peach, fennel, and subtle hints of crushed stone. On the palate, the wine is rich and complex, with layers of stone fruit and citrus flavours complemented by a distinctive minerality and a touch of fennel. The finish is long and precise, showcasing the wine’s balance and depth.
This Sancerre pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes. Its vibrant acidity and minerality complement seafood such as scallops, oysters, and lobster, as well as dishes featuring fennel or citrus. It also pairs well with goat cheeses like Chavignol, enhancing the wine’s complex flavours.
