Gammel Dansk Bitter Dram is a traditional Danish liqueur. Drunk as an aperitif or digestive, it’s made from a secret mix of 29 different herbs, spices and flowers.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.

You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us.

Devised in the early 1960’s by factory worker JK Asmund from the De Danske Spritfabrikker’s liqueur plant in Roskilde, the whole secret behind the special bitter taste in Gammel Dansk lies in the mixing ratio between 29 different herbs, spices and flowers - including angelica root, nutmeg, anise, ginger and rowan berries. No flavouring ingredient was allowed to dominate the total taste experience. Today, the final composition and the mixing ratio between the 29 different herbs, spices and flowers from all over the world is one of the country's best kept secrets. After the ingredients have been processed and mixed in the right ratio, they rest in 96% pure alcohol for three months, before water is added and the alcohol percentage drops to 38%.
