Gentle Giant is a sustainable winery in the Australian state of Victoria. Their Chardonnay is an unoaked white with aromas of enticing peach and melon , with a hint of cashew and citrus. A soft, round palate; plump and enjoyable with a creamy mid weight texture. Fantastically versatile, great value everyday drinking.

The Sunraysia region is largely contained within the larger Murray Darling wine region, which is one of Australia's largest and most productive wine areas. The region is renowned for its intensive horticulture and grape-growing. It is northwestern Victoria and southwestern New South Wales, with its main centre being the town of Mildura. The region is known for its high number of sunshine hours and produces a wide variety of grapes such as shiraz and chardonnay, viognier and durif, at very accessible prices. Many of the vineyards are irrigated by the mighty River Murray
Originally from India, the Gill family arrived in Australia in 2005 following time in New Zealand, and purchased an almond farm, which with the acquisition of further neighbouring properties soon expanding to growing other crops such as avocados, mangos, citrus and wine grapes. The first vintage was 2021 under the experienced eyes of Janel Carruthers (Winery Manager / Senior Winemaker). Due to the Australia’s challenging climate, it quickly became apparent that the farm should be managed along sustainable lines to ensure a productive future. Gill estate is now a member of Sustainable Winegrowing Australia, which is a commitment to keeping the land in good condition for future generations while minimising carbon footprint and waste.
