The Brajkovich family has been producing wines on their estate in Kumeu River for more than 70 years, and they are of the highest calibre. In recent blind-tasting lineups, this wine and other Chardonnays from this elite estate have defeated top Burgundy Chardonnays. These renowned wines are produced by Michael Brajkovich MW and his family in a region to the west of Auckland, New Zealand. They produce estate blends from their six various sites as well as single vineyard wines from each of their vineyards. Their best vineyard, Maté's Vineyard, is regarded as producing wines of exceptional concentration, length, and elegance that are frequently referred to as "Burgundian" in style. Comparisons to Burgundy do not fully convey the quality of Kumeu River's wines, particularly Maté's Vineyard.
