MilHÒc noun [corn in local Gascon]. In 1932, Maurice Lesgourgues started his corn procurement activity in the village of Peyrehorade. His son Jean-Jacques developed the family business. Then, he revived the jewel of Armagnac, the undisputed Château de Laubade. In 2020, on their Gascony lands, thanks to a rich know-how from three generations, they chose to pay tribute to the origins of their family. By blending their experience with their roots, they share with us their very first creations in the whisky world. From their passion for old spirits, from their willingness to respect the terroir and the traditions, from their commitment to a sustainable model, and finally from their boundless creativity, an exceptional whisky is born, and it is called MilHÒc. Le Premier Né is a French single grain whisky crafted in the terroir of Bas-Armagnac, well-known for its corn production. This corn (54%), cultivated on their lands, and the malted barley (46%) sourced in France, are slowly distilled in their column-still alembic that gives its singular personality to the whisky. Made from the careful blending of new casks, first-fill Bourbon casks and first-fill Armagnac casks and left to mature in the estate’s cellars, this is a whisky of noble origin and unmatched in its style. Bottled at 45%abv with natural colour and non-chill filtered.
