Description

Founded by the charismatic Seyit Karagözoğlu in 2000 Pasaeli is a pioneering winery proudly representing Turkish winemaking on the international stage. Previously a wine importer, Seyit recognised the huge potential of his homeland for wine production. Turkey is blessed with a wealth of unique indigenous grape varieties (some estimate over 1,000, compared to Italy’s 600), a Mediterranean climate, and centuries of winemaking tradition, and is, in fact, the world’s sixth-largest grape grower. The wine production scene, however, is limited to smaller, boutique producers who are mostly export-focused – among them, Pasaeli.

Their grapes are sourced from single vineyards around Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, near Izmir, Tekirdag and Canakkale (close to the ancient city of Troy). All of the grapes are hand-harvested, and exclusively natural yeasts are employed during the vinification process, resulting in wines that are authentic expressions of their unique terroirs.

Çalkarası variety is native to Çal – Denizli. Here it is grown in a single vineyard at an altitude of 850 meters, fermented in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 18C and aged on its lees for 3 months to provide complexity. A delicate pale pink in the glass, while the nose has enticing aromas of wild strawberries and white peach. The palate is elegant and balanced with a subtly saline, refreshing finish.

Delivery

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.

You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us.
