Rare Champagne is only produced in the most exceptional years, when nature and winemaking expertise align to create something truly remarkable. With a philosophy that values patience and precision, the house has released just a handful of vintages since its inception, each an expression of the unique conditions of its year. These vintages include 1976, 1979, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2013. In 2018, the collection expanded with the launch of Rare Rosé, starting with the 2007 vintage, followed by 2008 and 2012. These rosé cuvées, crafted with the same meticulous care, offer a rich and expressive alternative to the signature white Champagne. With its iconic gold-adorned bottle, inspired by Marie-Antoinette’s love for opulent design, Rare Champagne is more than just a drink—it is a celebration of resilience, artistry, and nature’s finest moments.
It has a bright yellow hue with a persistent stream of fine bubbles. The nose is both subtle and clean, revealing delicate white flowers, hints of black tea, and touches of citrus fruits like kiwi and kumquat. As it evolves, notes of lime blossom, green tea, and fern emerge, complemented by aromas of white fruits such as greengage plums. Subtle nuances of chestnut honey, sweet spices, vanilla, and marzipan add depth to its rich bouquet. On the palate, it unveils layers of pear and a subtle mineral note. The fine, persistent mousse leads to a long, sophisticated finish.
