Reverie is made from a blend of aromatic grapes harvested from vineyards warmed by the southern French sun, yet cooled by the sea breezes drifting in from the Mediterranean. The talented winemaking team in the historic walled city of Carcasonne have combined contemporary winemaking with a traditional influence to craft a wine with broad appeal.
Muscat 60%, Viognier 30%, Grenache Blanc 10%, from the Languedoc. Machine picked at night to avoid oxidation risk. Pre-fermentation maceration at a cool temperature (4°C) in concrete tanks for one week. The alcoholic fermentation was then launched at a temperature of 18°C. Short (5 day) maceration with daily pumping over to extract sufficient colour and tannin without too much bitterness. Extended lees aging for extra complexity.
Clear, pale orange colour. Intense aromas of bitter oranges, ripe peach, orange blossom and slight nutty and spicy hints. Fresh, vivid and well-balanced, with a nice acidity; the aromas carry through to the palate. The finish is long, intense, and complex. An exceptionally well-priced introduction to the world of orange wine.
