Shichiken brewery was founded in 1750 at the foot of Mt Kaikoma in the town of Hakashu of the Yamanashi district. The local area is classified as a Unesco Biosphere Reserve, to preserve the dense alpine vegetation and historic local communities, each with their own traditional agricultural techniques.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.

You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

If you call us after your item has shipped, we will be unable to cancel it and you will need to return to us.

Shipping charges are non-refundable. We advise you to obtain a postal receipt or send the items back via recorded delivery.

Description

Shichiken uses some of the purest water in Japan which flows directly off Mount Kaikoma, filtering through layers of 10 million year old granite. Only locally grown rice is used with long-slow fermentations to ensure these remain a unique, artisanal products with a well-defined sense of place.

Hitogokochi/Asahinoyume rice 70% polishing ratio, no added alcohol.

Tasting Note: Soft, round and flavoursome with aromas of ripe melon and citrus. Great purity, elegance and depth of flavour.

Food Match: Ideal with sushi and tempura.
