The English Whisky Chapter 14 is an unpeated single malt whisky crafted by The English Whisky Co. at St George’s Distillery in Norfolk, England – the first dedicated English single malt whisky distillery in over a century, established in 2006 by Andrew Nelstrop. Officially opened in 2007 by King Charles III (then HRH The Prince of Wales), the distillery remains family-owned and rooted in sustainability and traditional methods, drawing on Norfolk’s pure, mineral-rich water and fertile barley-growing soil.
Chapter 14 is part of the distillery’s core range, matured for a minimum of five years in ex-bourbon American oak barrels and bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered and natural in colour. The whisky is light and elegant in style, with a smooth texture and bright, fruit-forward profile. Expect layered aromas of vanilla, Danish pastry, and lychee on the nose, followed by flavours of crème brûlée, banana, citrus peel, and soft oak spice on the palate. Its subtle complexity and gentle warmth make it ideal for sipping on a relaxed evening or for use in refined whisky-based cocktails.
Chapter 14 has received wide acclaim, including Gold at the Wizards of Whisky Awards and the title of European Whisky of the Year in 2017. A showcase of English single malt at its most refined.
