Château du Breuil produces Calvados from the highly regarded AOC Pays d’Auge appellation in the heart of Normandy's Calvados region.
Unlike Calvados "AOC", Calvados with the AOC "Pays d'Auge" requires cider apples produced in the Pays d'Auge area and a double distillation.
It makes a finer Calvados, due to the quality of apples produced by the local soil, and to the elimination of the roughest parts of the alcohol during the distillations. The Château du Breuil makes AOC Pays d'Auge Calvados only.
Tasting Notes: This "Appellation du Pays d'Auge Contrôlée" Calvados is slowly aged in oak casks and personally controlled for quality by the cellar manager. This fine blend aged at least 8 years, both light and fruity, has a bouquet of walnut, almond and vanilla... an authentic Calvados in the proud Norman tradition.
