Established in 1995 by Danish winemaker Peter Sissek, Dominio de Pingus rapidly established itself as a serious player in the fine wine world, gaining a cult status which persists to this day. The wines are produced in very limited quantities from some of the best grapes the Ribera del Duero has to offer. Flor de Pingus is a more open, accessible wine than the estate’s grand vin, offering a very high level of quality in an earlier-drinking package. A blend of 95% Tempranillo co-fermented with 5% Garnacha, this wine was matured in oak barrels, 20% of which were new, before bottling. This wine exhibits freshness and elegance despite its clear pedigree, and is accessible to drink now. Fresh red fruit, spice and a seam of minerality dance on the palate.
