Description

The Gruber Siblings Ewald, Maria and Christian run this superb medium-sized organic estate in the village of Röschitz, situated in northern Weinviertel on the slopes of Manhartsberg.
Principally gravel, sand and loess soils characterize Weinviertel while here in Röschitz there is also a high proportion of granite

After a few years out of production, the winter of 2021 provided the perfect conditions for the Gruber family to produce their magnificent Eiswein from their organic vineyards in the Austrian region of Weinviertel.

This brilliant sweet wine relies on completely healthy grapes that have been left on the vine well into winter. It only be made when temperatures reach -6˚c in the vineyard, freezing any water in the grapes and thereby concentrating the sugars in the must. The grapes are harvested by hand, usually at night, then pressed immediately. The resulting wines are hugely sweet and concentrated yet fresh, encapsulating the essence of the grape.

This delicious wine is packed with intense white raisin, apricot, honey and orange blossom notes with laser-like acidity and great purity. It’s also one of the best value Eisweins you’ll ever taste.
