Cantine Provima is one the oldest wineries in the fast rising Matelica region of the Marche, having produced wines since 1932. This is a small, high-quality co-operative consisting of 180 vinegrowers across 120 hectares of vineyards.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.

You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

Description

Only one-tenth the size of the famous Jesi appellation, Matelica is located inland and benefits of a unique north-south exposure. Vineyards can be found in the valley where the surrounding mountains counter any sea breezes. Vines benefit from a clay-limestone soil which contributes more body to the wines than commonly found in Jesi.

The grapes are handpicked then gently pressed. A cold soak on skins precedes a temperature-controlled fermentation in concrete vats. This is followed by 12 months ageing with regular batonnage. The wine is then released after 6 months in bottle.

Grape: 100% Verdicchio

Tasting Note: Ripe white peach aromas are displayed as well as chamomile and quince notes. This is a dry, mineral-rich wine of great texture and depth.

Food Match: Ideal with fresh crab, grilled fish and poached chicken salad.
