Hartwall’s Long Drink was originally created for the Olympic Games hosted by Finland in 1952. It was Finland’s first major international event, and they didn’t have enough manpower to serve all of the tourists visiting for the event. Hartwall then offered to solve the problem by developing their Original Long Drink, as a pre-mixed cocktail to serve to the crowds. It was one of the first mixed drinks in the world! The Finns fell in love with the grapefruit-flavoured drink immediately and asked for it to be continued after the games, and has only continued to grow in popularity since.
