Il Poggio is located in the green and luxuriant Rovereto Hills, in the heart of Gavi DOCG. The vineyards have south south-west exposure, which allows the vines long sunny days, and are at 330m above sea level. Here the soils are rich in sand and clay. This terroir can lead to the creation of delicious wines full of character.

Challenge 21 - You must be 18 or over to buy alcohol. You must not buy alcohol on behalf of those under 18. We apply the "Challenge 21" policy to all delivery and collection orders. We will not supply if the person receiving or collecting orders appears under the age of 21.

We charge a flat fee of £5.95 for delivery if your order is under 20kg, and £10 inc VAT if it is over 20kg. Free delivery is available for orders above £120 (inc VAT).

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Keep an eye out for your shipment confirmation email; once you get it, your order will be delivered the next day.

You have the right to cancel your order at any time without being charged for the goods ordered within 14 days of purchase.

Description

The yield is kept very low keeping the delicate flavours of the cortese grapes concentrated, as they can be affected by large yields or irrigation. The vineyards are all managed by hand and the knowledge of the vines has been passed from father to daughter.

Franca, had his first vintage at these vineyards in 1972, and over the last 5 years has handed over the key winemaking roles to his daughter, Francesca. The vines now have an average age of 25 years and are in their prime.

Grape Varieties: 100% Cortese.

Tasting Notes: Lemons, limes and gravelly nose. Crisp acidity, sour citrus flavours, minerally clean finish.

Sugar Level: 1.3g/l
