This clear, fresh absinthe is produced in France to a historic recipe, using 15 distinct botanicals. Now in a handy 20cl bottle, this is the perfect bottle for the adventurous home bartender. Try in classic cocktails such as the Sazerac or Sidecar.

Absinthe’s notorious history – the drink of fin-de-siècle Parisian bohemians, banned for a century for its alleged psychoactive properties – has given it a certain mystique among drink enthusiasts today. La Fontaine produces a wide variety of expressions of this spirit, including this clear bottle, which clocks in at 56% alcohol.
With notes of lemon and menthol, as well as the classic anise quality characteristic of all absinthe, this is a highly versatile spirit. At home in the classic absinthe serve (diluted with water and a sugar cube), this is also excellent when added in small doses to whisky- and cognac-based cocktails, such as the Sidecar (cognac, triple sec, and lemon juice) or the Sazerac (rye, sugar, and bitters).
