Ian Hunter was the last member of the distillery's founding Johnstone family to run Laphroaig, up until his death in 1944. The Book series pays homage to his legacy, which the distillery credits with making it what it is today. Each book, released annually, tells a different chapter of his legacy, with the Laphroaig bottle set into the book itself.
