Description

Eugene Mercier had a stock answer for inevitable sceptics: “You can laugh, but the day will come when rivers of champagne will flow through Epernay”. Some ten years later Eugene was proved right.

By taking part in the great exhibitions of the 19th century and conducting an imaginative advertising campaign, Eugene Mercier aimed to catch the public imagination. Champagne Mercier was to become a fixture at all major social occasions.

Tasting Notes

Sight: Bright yellow.

Nose: A dominant fruity note of white grapes mixed with notes of fresh bread characteristic of Mercier Brut.

Palate: Thanks to a high proportion of Pinots, flavours of apples and ripe pears expand in a delightfully fresh finish.
