There are several Brunets in Vouvray, but Domaine Nicolas Brunet is a 16 hectare estate, much of which is certified organic from the 2023 vintage onwards. No pesticides are used anywhere in the vineyards. Nicolas is the 9th generation in his family to grow vines, and they have traditional cellars carved out of the classic tuffeau limestone, going back 80 metres under the plateau of Vouvray and naturally maintaining a temperature of 10-14c. The still wines are fermented slowly only using indigenous yeasts. He makes a combination of dry, sweet and semi-sweet still wines, including a wonderful sweet wine from 1990. There is also a pair of dry traditional method sparkling wines
A medium-sweet, honeyed Chenin Blanc from 65 year old vines, fermented with wild yeast , packed with notes of quince, fig, spices, yet still fresh and refined. 67 g/l residual sugar
