Pasaeli CSKS Cabernet Sauvignon Karasakiz is a wonderful red that is perfect for any occasion – try with grilled meats. Blending the structured, dense Cabernet Sauvignon with the elegant, red-fruited Karasakiz yields a complex yet very drinkable wine, matured for six months before release.

For Standard Delivery, we will ship items within 2 working days, provided the order is placed before midday.

For Express Delivery, we will ship items the same day, provided the order is placed before midday.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipment confirmation email, and the following day, you will receive a text from our courier with a delivery window. If your order has not yet arrived, please email [email protected] and quote your order number.

Description

Pasaeli is a pioneering winery proudly representing Turkish winemaking on the international stage. Turkey is blessed with a wealth of unique indigenous grape varieties (some estimate over 1,000, compared to Italy’s 600), a Mediterranean climate, and centuries of winemaking tradition, and is, in fact, the world’s sixth-largest grape grower. The wine production scene, however, is limited to smaller, boutique producers who are mostly export-focused – among them, Pasaeli. Founded initially as a fine wine importer in 1993, the company shifted to growing and vinifying its wines around the turn of the millennium, and bottled its first wine in 2010.

About the Producer

Their grapes are all sourced from single vineyards around Turkey’s Mediterranean coast, near Izmir, Tekirdag and Canakkale (close to the ancient city of Troy). All of the grapes are hand-harvested, and exclusively natural yeasts are employed during the vinification process, resulting in wines that are authentic expressions of their unique terroirs. CSKS, as the name suggests, blends the well-loved international variety of Cabernet Sauvignon with the indigenous Turkish Karasakiz red grape.

Tasting Notes

The Cabernet Sauvignon brings a whole body, pronounced yet smooth tannic structure, and a meaty savouriness to the wine, while the Karasakiz brings elegance and pronounced red-fruit notes. These varieties are vinified separately and matured for three months before being blended and further aged for three months. Pair this hearty red with traditional Turkish grilled meats or kofte.
