Maizière’s winemaking process is centred around simplicity, and allowing the natural characteristics of each harvest and terroir to come out into the wine. They press their grapes using a pneumatic press, which is soft and very precise, so it can be adapted each year to perfectly fit the nature of each harvest. Their wines are aged on lees and get a regular battonage, further enriching the wines with the characteristics of each individual vintage and terroir. Their wines are mostly aged in inert tanks, but occasionally some are aged in French oak barrels.
The Maiziere Family can trace their winemaking history in Burgundy back to the 12th century. Today siblings Pascal and Anne continue the legacy of their father Pierre, running a high quality micro-negociant, working with selected growers to make small parcels of superb yet well-priced wines from across the region and a deliciously approachable style.
Maizière’s Chassagne-Montrachet is a medium-bodied, creamy white wine from, perfectly embodying the high quality micro-negociant it comes from. It has an impressive palate, with an explosion of stone fruity peach, perfectly balanced with sweet nougat and subtle minerality. It delivers and versatile and enjoyable drinking experience which will captivate wine enthusiasts from all over the world.
This wine is perfectly paired with a range of different lighter-style meals. It's light, fresh characteristics make it the perfect match for grilled white meats, seafood, as well as rich, creamy pastas and cheeses.
