Nestled among the esteemed vineyards of Pauillac, Château Grand-Puy Ducasse shares its prestigious neighbourhood with Château Lafite and Château Pontet-Canet. This historic Fifth Growth estate, founded in 1675, is renowned for its commitment to sustainability and the production of wines that beautifully reflect their terroir.
Prélude à Grand-Puy Ducasse, the château’s second wine, is crafted for earlier enjoyment while retaining the depth and character of a classic Pauillac. A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Merlot, it undergoes meticulous vinification, including manual harvesting, advanced sorting, and ageing for 18 to 24 months in French oak barrels.
It presents an enticing bouquet of black cherry, dark chocolate, fresh cedar, and hints of tobacco. On the palate, supple tannins frame vibrant fruit flavours, while well-balanced acidity brings freshness to the long, elegant finish. Full-bodied yet approachable, this wine pairs effortlessly with roasted meats, game, and aged cheeses.
